The Rwampara district leadership, led by RDC Asiimwe Jane Muhindo, launched the construction of a three-in-one staff house at Bugamba Health Centre IV on March 13, 2024, in a move to improve health service delivery in the area.

The three housing units will accommodate eight (8) health workers, as the project aims to provide health workers at this facility with accommodation to ensure that they are available to offer health services, especially during emergencies.

During the launch, Dr. Cranmer Mugasira, the in-charge of Bugamba Health Centre IV, expressed his gratitude towards the district council and technical team for allocating funds towards the health centre.

“When this project is completed, it will save health workers from commuting from far away, which has been a major hindrance to their attendance on duty,” Mugasira said.

Mary Mashanyu, the Rwampara district councillor representing Bugamba, appreciated the district leadership for prioritising Bugamba and encouraged health workers to deliver effective services to the people.

The RDC, Jane Muhindo, urged health workers to be patriotic and work tirelessly to serve the community, given their small number at the facility compared to the larger population.

She applauded the government of Uganda for funding the health sector to improve people’s health and well-being.

“I would like to thank the government of Uganda for prioritising the health sector and for the efforts towards better health service delivery to the people,” Muhindo said.

The Bugamba Health Centre IV, which has over 30 staff, will get its first staff housing unit, a project fully supported by the government of Uganda.
