“Findings indicate that Atwiine arrived at the checkpoint and began impersonating a police officer, specifically claiming to be a Superintendent of Police attached to Katwe Division in Kampala Metropolitan,” Twineamazima stated.

He stated that the Officer in Charge of Traffic in Semuto became suspicious and conducted a thorough interrogation where Atwiine admitted to his impersonation, leading to his arrest, and a case of impersonation was formally registered.

Police strongly appeal to the public to refrain from impersonating police officers, as such actions are subject to severe penalties.

The suspect is being held at Nakaseke Police Station as investigations into the matter continue.
