The Director of Counter Terrorism, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Byakagaba Abas, while presiding over a pipping ceremony of gazetted officers at the Directorate of Counter Terrorism headquarters in Naguru, urged the newly promoted officers to be disciplined in their work.

“Be disciplined, hardworking, and exemplary,” stressed AIGP Byakagaba.

Byakagaba further said that the new rank comes with added responsibility, and they should be ready to embrace it. He also praised the officers for being disciplined enough to be promoted.

“Leadership must be able to harness all the capabilities and strengths, and it comes with responsibilities that you must be in a position to take,” he added.

He further expressed gratitude to their spouses for helping the officers carry out their duties and counselled them to always work as a team and to ensure the safety of Ugandans.

The officers pipped ranked from Assistant Superintendent of Police to Senior Superintendent of Police.
