The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, in partnership with Exhibitions and Trade Services India Pvt. Ltd. (ETSIPL), is set to hold a Power and Elec international expo at the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) grounds at the Multipurpose Hall at Lugogo for three days starting from July 13th–15th, 2023.

The Expo aims at promoting the industry and exhausting untapped opportunities in Uganda. The Expo will enhance interaction with domestic and international companies, which will provide a comprehensive platform to enable the growth of the energy sector in Uganda.

Organised under the theme “Connect with the Power, Energy, Electrical, Renewable, and Solar Industry of Uganda,” this Expo will bring together national and international players in different spheres of power to showcase the latest innovations and technologies and hold business-to-business experiences.

According to Irene Batebe, the ministry’s Permanent secretary, these will include manufacturers and suppliers of power products, imports and exports, dealers in energy, electrical, electronics, electro-energetic, renewable, and solar products, HVAC, and services, plus end users.

“The business communities in this sector have to showcase technologies but also discuss key policy challenges such as the technological gaps and the innovation systems required to foster technological progress,” said Batebe.

The expo is organised by ETSIPL, which is a leading exhibition organiser and promoter from India. The local partners supporting the expo are the Uganda National Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Alliance (UNREEEA), the National Electrical Contractor Association (NECA), the Uganda Solar Energy Association (USEA), and the Uganda Manufactures Association (UMA), in support of the Department of Commerce, and the Government of India.
