The leader of the National Economic Empowerment Dialogue (NEED) party, Joseph Kabuleta, has rubbished the National Unity Platform’s poor approach to politics, which he identified as political activism stating that political activism does not depend on a specific ideology or national history.

While speaking yesterday Thursday 9th March at the opening of the new head office of his political party, NEED, in Rubaga division in Uganda’s capital Kampala, Kabuleta revealed that time and again, NUP and its opposition allies such as the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and the Justice Forum (JEEMA), among others, have employed political activism that has yielded nothing positive except lead to the loss of lives of innocent Ugandans through illegal demonstrations, arrests, among others.

He also advised NUP leaders and their supporters to turn their backs on political activism and focus on politics that address the issues affecting Ugandans.

“Our opposition comrades should stop that activism politics that they have exercised for years where people jump up, evade the streets, destroying people’s property, which at the end of the day nobody is addressing the real issues of people,” Kabuleta said.

Mr.Kabuleta also condemned the demonstrations of NUP women on 8th March 2023, over the alleged detention of their husbands, which according to him were planned by Flavia Nabagabe Kalule, the NUP womenā€™s wing chairperson, who later became a bystander as the poor innocent women she picked from markets took on illegal actions.

According to Kabuleta, opposition political figures have turned into attention seekers and are not fighting for the common Ugandan.
