7 Individuals Arrested for Exchanging Counterfeit Dollars

The territorial police in North Kyoga and Lira City have in custody a gang of seven for dealing in counterfeit dollars and fleecing the public in Lira City.

The police spokesperson, SCP Fred Enanga, revealed in a police statement released on October 2, 2023, that 7 gang members were arrested by the police for fleecing the public with counterfeit dollars.

“The suspects were identified as Joshua Odur, Denish Odongo, Geoffrey Ogwang, Nancy Akite, Collin Atim, and Eunice Aguti,” Enanga said.

Enanga noted that in a similar crime, ten other members of the same gang were arrested after they attacked and harassed the LC1 chairman of Ober Kampala Cell for tipping off the police.

“The suspects were identified as Moses Amone( gang leader), Moses Olum, Denis Otema, Jimmy Ojara, Aron Opio, Isaac Opio,Stephen Nono, Elvis Odongo, Jimmy Ebong, and Moris Opio,” Enanga said.

He noted that they are all in custody for conspiracy, theft, and dealing in counterfeit notes.
