Lukungu Ivan alias Pallaso, a 25-year-old, resident of Nyendo has been arrested by the Directorate of Crime Intelligence after they carried out an intelligence-led operation in connection with the robbery of cash, which occurred at the home of Hajji Lumolo and his wife Hon. Amb. Nekesa in Muyega.
The task team booked out from the old Kampala division and Katwe division, on intelligence to Masaka, on January 25 ,2024.
SCP Fred Enanga the Uganda police spokes person in a statement revealed that this was after 2 days of very serious surveillance.
“After 2 days, of intensified surveillance, they arrested the suspect on the 27.01.2024 along Edward Street in Masaka City. Upon further interrogation, he admitted to having participated in the robbery that took place in Muyenga and confirmed that he received Ugx 120m, out of their loot, which he spent, ” Enanga stated.
According to Enanga, Pallaso used the money to buy a Toyota Harrier at Ugx 62m, a Restaurant at Ugx 10m, LA house at Nyendo Mukude at Ugx 20m, a Plot along Nabugabo road Masaka at Ugx 15m, and An electronic shop worth Ugx 16m
Police say that it was established that the suspect was in Nasaja City
“It was established that the suspect was in Masaka City, from 10.01.2024, till today, and was transferred from Masaka to Kabalagal police division for further court process. At the time of his arrest, he had allegedly spent Ugx 123m. He now becomes the 13th suspect in the incident of armed robbery,” Police reported.
Lukungu is reported to be the 13th suspect in the armed robbery incident, and the investigation is ongoing.

As a result, he hatched a plan with 2 other police officers, who included; Sgt Idro Dominic, PC Mugoya Sharif, together with Arinda Edgar alias Watson and Niwagaba Rogers.
