Uganda Revenue Authority will unveil its Headquarters on 19thJan 2019 located in Nakawa Division, Kampala District.

The 22- storey building structure is one of the tallest buildings in the city and will house all offices of the revenue body in Kampala Metropolitan.

According to URA officials , the project will provide better service delivery and will have all URA office operations in Kampala, Mukono and Entebbe converge at the same venue.

The project that cost Shs139bn, fully funded by government will include car parking structure for over 360 cars plus surface parking for 710 vehicles.

Ian Rumanyika, the Manager Public & Corporate Affairs at URA said that the building will save tax payers over US$3 million (over UShs11bn) annually currently spent in rent.

“This is expected to reduce the cost of doing business for taxpayers through provision of one-stop-service-center and savings on rent, transport, ICT connectivity, security, courier services, for URA,” he said.

According to Rumanyika the building will also improve URA’s image and corporate branding in the Public domain since it has been the only revenue administration body in the EAC Region without a befitting headquarters building.

The one-stop-center for all URA services will accommodate up to 1700 staff at the peak of ten years.
