The 2nd Infantry Division acting commander, Brigadier General Paul Muhanguzi, applauded Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society (WSACCO) for its corporate social investment outreach in the community on Monday, December 4, 2023.

Brig Gen Muhanguzi was receiving a wheelchair donated by WSACCO to a one-year-old baby (Abigail) during the baraza held at the Division Headquarters in Makenke barracks in Mbarara City.

Brig Gen Muhanguzi appreciated Wazalendo’s leadership for not only delivering better services to its members but also reaching out to them and the entire community through their Corporate Social Responsibility function.

The donation was delivered by Maj Brian Okuta, the WSACCO’s Mbarara City Branch Manager, on behalf of the CEO, Col Joseph Freddy Onata.

The child’s mother, L/CPL Agaba Baker, who works under the 2nd  Infantry Division Engineering Regiment, said the child was born with a complication of hydrocephalus and spina bifada. Since then, she couldn’t sit and was advised by the doctors to buy her a wheelchair for easy movement.

In attendance were, among others, 2nd Infantry Division Operations and Training Officer Col Ndugga,  Admin Officer Col Joyce Kabanyoro, Garrison Commander 2nd Guard Battalion, and other Division Heads of Departments.
