UPDF Recalls Veterans for Peacekeeping Mission

The Uganda People’s Defense Force (UPDF) Spokesperson, Brig Gen. Felix Kulayigye has announced a call-up exercise of army veterans for a peacekeeping mission.

According to Kulayigye, the exercise started on 15th and will end on 18th February 2023.

He said that the exercise will be conducted in various call Centers allover the country and will be conducted by different teams from the UPDF, supported by Residence District Commissioners (RDCs), and District Internal Security Organizations (DISO) of the area where a particular centre is located.

“The UPDF Veterans MUST report with Discharge Certificate, National Identity Card, Be physically and medically fitplus being 55 years and below of age,” the Force spokesperson stated.

The statement mentioned 10 call up Centers that veterans should report to including, Central Region 1 Division Headquarters (Kakiri),  Western Region 2 Division Headquarters (Mbarara), Rwenzori Region Mountain Division Headquarters (Muhooti), Eastern (Bugema Barracks and Soroti Flying School).

Northern Region at Acholi Pii, Greater Bunyoro Region Headquarters at Masindi.

West Nile Region 409 Brigade Headquarters ( Bondo), Busoga Region Gaddafi Barracks (Jinja), Greater Masaka Armoured Brigade Headquarters (Masaka), and Northern Region 4 Division Headquarters (Gulu).

Kulayigye encouraged all veterans who meet the criteria to answer the call to duty.
