The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has extended the deadlines for the submission of the Continuous Assessment (CA) scores for the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).

This development was confirmed by Jennifer N. Kalule Musamba, the Principal Public Relations Officer (PPRO) at UNEB, on Thursday, October 3, 2024.

According to Kalule, October 30, 2024, is the new deadline for the UCE candidates of the New Lower Secondary Curriculum (NLSC), and November 15, 2024, is the deadline for the senior three learners.

She noted that coursework scores and work projects for the NLSC candidates should be submitted for all subjects offered, adding that if they fail to do so, the candidate will not be graded.

“Candidates without project work and CA scores in any of the subjects offered shall not be graded. UCE Transitional candidates are not required to submit course scores,” Kalule stated.

However, Kalule said that a grace period has been granted for the UACE candidates to submit the CA scores, although the requirement will attract a surcharge of UGX 50,000 per candidate.

“For UACE (S.6) candidates, following the deadline of 30th September, a grace period has been granted until October 15, 2024. The submission of CA scores for subjects where it is a requirement for UACE attracts a surcharge of UGX 50,000 per candidate during this grace period,” she stated.

She urged the head teachers of the affected UACE schools and centers to write a letter to the executive director explaining the reason for the late submission.

“The letter, along with the CD of the scores of the UACE candidates, should be submitted to the CA offices in Kyambogo, where an invoice will be generated,” she added.

UNEB will not receive any CA scores after October 15, 2024.

The UCE New lower secondary curriculum will start with a briefing on Friday, October 11, 2024, and end on Friday, November 8, 2024, while the UCE old curriculum will start on Friday, October 11, 2024, and end on Friday, November 15, 2024. The UACE will start on November 8, 2024, and will end on December 6, 2024.
