The Ghetto Kids once again pulled off a star-studded performance last night at the British Got Talent show as they sailed through to the British Got Talent finals.
Clad in Uganda’s flag colors, along with white multicolored Ankara African attire, the young talents blew the crowd away at the Hammersmith Apollo in London with their energetic dance routine with a touch of African setting in the background.
After receiving the majority vote with last night’s performance, the Ghetto Kids continued to carry the Uganda flag high on the world map.
The Ghetto Kids, formerly known as the Triplets, are a dance and music group founded in 2014 by Dauda Kavuma, composed of over 30 children from Kampala slums, most of them being orphans.
On April 18th this year, the group received its first worldwide attention after receiving a Golden Buzzer for their thrilling performance before multitudes of fans.
The dance troupe made history in their audition when Bruno became the first judge to hit the golden buzzer before the group had even finished their performance.
The six kids, aged five to 13, are orphans who live together in Uganda after being rescued from the plight of homelessness.
Priscila, 12, Asharif, 12, Akram, 13, Shakib, 12, Madwanah, 13, and Josephine, 5, showed off their moves to a medley of upbeat songs.
The Ghetto Kids and Travis George have made it to the Britain’s Got Talent final after competing on Wednesday’s live semi-final show.
“The children are really talented; we have choreographers, but the kids come up with most of the moves; we just help them here and there. We never set about posting their videos to make money or become famous. We did it because it made them happy.” Said Dauda Kavuma.
According to Daphne, a performing artist, “I have never ever seen such an electrifying and energetic performance; if these kids continue performing passionately like this, then they are destined for greater heights.” Daphne added.
