Ugandan Chef Set to Break Guinness World Record for Longest Solo Cooking Marathon

A Ugandan chef, Dorcus Basheba Kirabo, also known as Mama D, is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the longest solo cooking marathon.

Mama D is trying to break the current record for the longest cooking marathon (individual) held by an Irish chef, Alan Fisher, who cooked for 119 hours, 57 minutes, and 16 seconds.

Mama D aims to surpass this record by cooking for over 120 hours in her attempt. Her cooking marathon started on Saturday, December 23rd, at approximately 10 a.m.

She has garnered support from thousands of people behind her endeavor. During the cooking, she was seen giving out meals to those who came to support her. Many celebrities and several famous personalities came to her support.

If successful, Mama D will become the new holder of the Guinness World Record for the longest solo cooking marathon. The marathon can be seen live on Urban Television, one of Uganda’s stations.

Lilly Ajarova, the CEO of the Uganda Tourism Board, has made a cash contribution to Mama D as a way of encouraging and supporting her. Mama D’s success will indeed have a big impact on Uganda’s tourism industry, according to Ajarova.

Many businesses and shows are taking advantage of the situation, including Urban After Five, a show that plays music and focuses on entertainment.
