The Uganda Police Force (UPF) has issued a press release urging the public to remain highly vigilant and to strictly adhere to safety guidelines during the upcoming Easter Celebrations.
In a statement released today, April 17, 2025, the UPF emphasized the significance of Easter for Christians while underscoring the need for increased security awareness.
Noting Easter as a period of commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ and considered the cornerstone of Christian faith as well as a time of profound celebration of renewal and hope for Christians globally, the UPF cautioned that such festive periods can unfortunately increase vulnerability to criminal activities.
The statement strongly advised all Ugandans to maintain heightened vigilance, emphasizing the importance of individual awareness, active participation in community watch programs, and the strengthening of security measures around homes and businesses.
Specifically addressing churchgoers, the police urged them to be cautious of their surroundings and to actively cooperate with security personnel deployed at places of worship.
Furthermore, the UPF issued a strong appeal to all motorists to strictly adhere to road safety regulations to prevent accidents during the holiday period, which often sees increased traffic on roadways.
