General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defense Forces and Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations, has welcomed H.E. Frederieke Quispel, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Uganda, at the Ministry of Defense and Veteran Affairs Headquarters in Mbuya, Kampala.
The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations, with both parties recognizing the long-standing cooperation between Uganda and the Netherlands.
In a statement released by Colonel Deo Akiki, Deputy Director Public Information of UPDF, on September 9, 2024, both leaders explored various areas of mutual interest.
“They underscored their commitment to further strengthening ties as a gesture of goodwill and friendship,” the statement read in part.
General Kainerugaba presented Ambassador Quispel with a copy of President Museveni’s autobiography and a selection of premium Ugandan coffee.
Ambassador Quispel was accompanied by two officials from the embassy, including the Defense Attaché and the First Secretary.
“Ambassador Quispel, who recently presented her credentials to President Museveni last month, marked the commencement of her diplomatic mission in Uganda,” the statement added.
According to the statement, this meeting highlights the ongoing collaboration between the two nations but also paves the way for future partnerships, reinforcing the shared interests that bind Uganda and the Netherlands together.
