The European Union embassies in Uganda are in the spotlight for massively financing top Kampala city celebrities to participate in the flopped “march to parliament” protest that kicked off on Tuesday, July 23rd, in Kampala.
A detailed report has revealed that the embassies reportedly used AGORA, a local NGO owned by a former journalist and renowned social media fanatic, Agatha Atuhaire, to pay these stars, including journalists, musicians, and influencers, to drum up support for the march.
Among the top City celebrities who received much money from AGORA (European Embassies) are Singer Azawi, who is recognized as a lesbian by her friends; Gay faded Allan Toniks; Faiza (KFM Host), and Toy Boy Bruno K, who is well-known for being exploited by sugar mummies.
Others are social media influencers, including Spire Ssentongo, Kirya Ug, Romantic Mukiga, Esau, and Bradley Calvin. They have extensively used their platforms to cause the protest.
On Thursday, July 25th, 2024, President Museveni said the march to parliament protest was meant to undermine his regime and champion the interests of the West.
The march has been linked to agents of imperialists hoping to overthrow Uganda’s government and install their finger puppets in positions of authority to loot Ugandan resources.
Reports state that they have been making payments through Agatha Atuhaire’s non-governmental organization Agora, which has been helping them move the money around among the artists and influencers.
Sources claim that Atuhaire has been engaging with financially struggling individuals who seek to maintain relevance in the media scene, potentially compromising their integrity for monetary gain.
Adding to the conspiracy, a foreign individual identified as Sofi Lundin, masquerading as a journalist, has been reported to be soliciting donations from various embassies to fund these protests.
Despite the financial incentives offered to the top players, many Ugandans chose to remain at home rather than engage in the demonstrations.
