The opposition politicians in Uganda are fond of talking bad about their country every time they have a chance to talk about it both within and outside.
After tainting the image of their country abroad, they come back to enjoy what they don’t want to talk about when they have chance to. The natural beauty, the organic foods, the peace and security, hospitable people and the wonderful conducive business environment.
In 2024, Uganda was named the best investment destination in Africa having attracted some of the most significant foreign direct investments projects in Africa in 2023.The Government of Uganda under the National Resistance Movement party has put in place the necessary infrastructure to aid in investment. The beautiful border to border tarmacked roads, the Uganda Airlines, as well as the much cherished peace and security, that has made Uganda a benchmark for the African continent.
Uganda has been credited for the organic garden to Kitchen foods, the vegetables, fish, milk, coffee, maize and the fresh fruits. The beautiful tourist attractions, mountains like Muhabura,Rwenzori Elgon,the flora and fauna, fresh water bodies ,the Gorillas in Bwindi and Mugahinga and many more. All these have increased the tourist earnings as well as investment and employment opportunities in the country
The opposition in Uganda however forget what they are supposed to do and instead concentrate on what they are not supposed to do, advancing selfish political interests instead of shared common interests for the good of the people. They hardly differentiate between disagreeing on principle and hating their own country.
As they discourage potential investors from investing Uganda, these opposition politicians surprisingly invest here and they are the beneficiaries of all the above mentioned. They peddle lies, preach hate, all in the name of getting foreign funds for selfish interests and activities but they later come back to the country and enjoy un interrupted.
As Uganda approaches the 2026 elections, Ugandans should watch such bad elements and vote wisely. Our opposition is full of selfish individuals whose aim is to satisfy their ego and greed instead of advocating for what helps the voters. No wonder many of them have been implicated in corruption scandals, just a group of ideologically bankrupt politicians misleading their supporters.
