The State House Anti-Corruption Unit(SHACU) working together with Investigations Directorate (CID) and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) have arraigned, John Bosco Kigundu, a treasurer of Kyeihara Parish Development Model(PDM) SACCO, Kasaana Sub County in Sheema District before the Sheema Chief Magistrates Court on Charges of obtaining money by false pretence.
According to the Anti-corruption unit, the accused has been soliciting millions of shillings from hundreds of PDM beneficiaries in the SACCOÂ claiming that, it is a requirement before one benefits from the program to pay some money, which was not the case.
The accused was remanded to prison until April 17, 2025.
In a related development, the Lira Chief Magistrates Court convicted and sentenced Sarah Atim, to one year, 11 months and three weeks in Prison on charges related to the mismanagement of PDM Funds in Lira District which was confirmed by the Anti-Corruption Unit on February 14, 2025. The suspect was remanded to Luzira.
The state house anti-corruption unit rapid response  team follows  the President Museveni’s  directive to the Head of the Unit, Brig Gen Henry Isoke, to investigate the criminal aspects of the matter, while other offices including Ministry of Lands, IGP and DPP ensure the law is upheld.
