A joint security task force on Monday, December 19, 2022, killed two suspected rebels of the Allied Democratic Forces in Matugga, Wakiso District.

The duo were put out of action during an operation conducted against ADF terrorists at Kito village in Matugga, Wakiso District, by the security forces, according to the police.

The two suspected ADF rebels shot dead by the security on Monday

Police have identified them as Hakim Kajubi and his colleague, only identified as Muhanguzi.

According to the police, they were shot dead following a gunfire exchange after resisting arrest.

Security has recovered two SMG rifles, a bomb that was immediately defused by the bomb squad, and four magazines with 66 rounds of ammunition.

SCP Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson, said the two assailants were also linked to the recent attacks on Busiika Police Station, where police lost three of their officers and rifles.

“The operation in Matugga followed several intelligence leads, and it was successful since we managed to get the right perpetuators who were behind the attacks on police stations,” Enanga said.

On Monday, December 12, 2022, the UPDF put into action eleven members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) after 30 of them tried to enter Uganda from the Democratic Republic of the Congo through Ntoroko, along the Semliki River. Other eight ADF rebels were captured along with their weapons.
