The President of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, is set to address the Nation on security and other matters of National importance on Thursday, July 13, 2023.
In a statement by Faruk Kirunda, the Deputy Presidential Press Secretary, the speech is aimed at shedding light on the country’s current state and outlining measures for addressing major challenges.
“The address will start at 8 p.m. and will be aired live on all TV and radio stations,” Kirunda confirmed.
Following an attack at Lhubiriha Secondary School in Kasese District by the Allied Defence Forces rebels last month, the President is expected to delve into counter-terrorism, border security, and come up with measures to prevent organised crime.
Among the other concerns the country will be expecting are infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and social welfare.
On Saturday, last week, the President confirmed to Ugandans his intention to make a broadcast on anti-terrorism and crime.
“Towards the end of next week, I will make a broadcast on anti-terrorism and crime. Stay tuned,” President Museveni tweeted on July 8, 2023.
