President Yoweri Museveni will address the country on wealth creation this Saturday at 8:00 pm, as announced by the Presidential Press Unit (PPU).
In a letter released today, Friday, July 19, 2024, the Presidential Press Unit (PPU) described the President’s forthcoming address as “crucial” and one that every patriotic Ugandan should not miss.
“During his address, the President will focus on the crucial topic of wealth creation and other crucial matters of national importance,” it said.
“ The address will be broadcast live on all radio and television stations, as well as digital platforms. We kindly request you to tune in and follow the address!” reads the letter.
President Museveni launched the Parish Development Model (PDM) in February 2022 as the most recent poverty alleviation initiative. This program aims to shift households from subsistence farming to a money-based economy. He has emphasized that the Government has set up wealth funds to promote wealth and job creation in the commercial agriculture, industry, services, and ICT sectors.
