President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has pledged mutual relations with the newly elected US President Donald Trump as he sent his congratulatory message to the Republican candidate on Friday, November 8, 2024,upon winning the presidential election of USA 2024.
President Museveni sent his congratulations via his X handle on behalf of Ugandans, promising to work with him like he did with his predecessors.
“I am writing on behalf of the people of Uganda to congratulate you on the historic victory you achieved on the 8th of November, 2024. We, the freedom-loving people of Uganda, look forward to mutually beneficial engagement with your administration,” President Museveni tweeted.
He added that by Trump winning both the popular and Electoral College votes, his victory was a true reflection of the feeling of the majority of citizens in the USA.
Trump defeated Democratic Vice President Harris Kamala in the race to return to the White House, becoming the 47th President of the USA.
His projected win in battleground Wisconsin put the Republican over the top with 276 electoral votes as counting continues in some key states.
Trump will return to the nation’s highest office four years after losing the 2020 election, attempting to overturn the results, facing two presidential impeachments, a criminal conviction, and many other criminal charges.
Speaking in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, Trump pledged to bring a golden age to the United States, praising what he called the greatest political movement of all time.
