President Museveni Makes New Appointments in the UPDF

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, also the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, has appointed new Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) officers in command and administration.

According to Brig.Gen. Felix Kulayigye, the Spokesperson of UPDF, President Museveni made the changes in command and administration on Saturday, May 6, 2023.

“H.E. the President and Commander in Chief of the UPDF have made changes in both command and administration as follows,” Brig.Gen. Kulayigye said.

The officers appointed include Maj.Gen. Don Williams Nabasa as 3rd Infantry Division Commander in Moroto; Brig. Gen. James Kinalwa as the Chief of Personnel and Administration; Brig Gen Eugene Ssenkumba Ssebugwawo as the Head of the National Emergency Coordination Centre in the Office of the Prime Minister; and Brig Gen William Beinomugisha has been appointed Commander Military Police.

Others appointed are Brig.Gen. Michael Kabango as the 4th Infantry Commander and Brig.Gen. Keith Katungi as the 5th Infantry Commander in Pader District.

Nabasa previously served as Commander Special Forces, and Kinalwa has been serving as Head of the National Emergency Coordination and Operations Centre (NECOC) in the Office of the Prime Minister.

Brig.Gen. Kulayigye has congratulated the newly appointed general and senior officers upon attaining various positions of command and administration.
