President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has urged residents of Nakaseke district to hold their area leaders accountable to ensure effective service deliveries by the government.
He made the remarks on Sunday, September 15, 2024, during his 80th birthday celebration held in Kijaguzo village, Semuto Trading Centre, Nakaseke District.
According to Museveni, the people of Luwero should hold their leaders accountable for what he calls persistent concerns about service delivery despite numerous government initiatives.
“The local authorities have critical oversight roles to ensure that services are delivered and produce the desired results, “Museveni stated.
He adds that the government will rehabilitate key roads in the Luwero region, including the Masulita-Luwero, Kiwoko-Butalangu, and Butalangu-Kapeeka-Nakwaya.
Museveni also donated Shs50 million to Kijaguzo Catholic Church and a brand new bus to St. Dennis Kijaguzo, a local educational institution.
First Lady Janet Kataha Museveni expressed gratitude to God for safeguarding the President through the years. She paid tribute to the people of Kijaguzo village, specifically acknowledging Mrs. Anne Nakampi, who played a pivotal role during the 1980s war by providing refuge to President Yoweri Museveni, his mother Esteri Kokundeka, and some of the National Resistance Army (NRA) commanders during the Luwero bush war.
President Museveni’s 80th birthday celebration in Nakaseke served as a platform to acknowledge the region’s historical significance and the government’s commitment to addressing the needs of the people in the Luwero Triangle.
