President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has issued a strict warning against the mismanagement of funds meant for the implementation of Parish Development Model activities.

He made the caution while addressing Acholi local leaders during his recent wealth creation mobilization drive held at the Kaunda grounds in Gulu City.

“I listened to the people who expressed dissatisfaction with the way their leaders are handling PDM.I will address their concerns,” said the President.

According to the president, no one should mess with the parish development model funds because this is tax payer’s money meant to benefit people at the sub county level.

Late last year, there were complaints in Nwoya district about some officials who had misappropriated over 208 million shillings meant for parish development.

The PDM project was launched by the President in February 2022 in Kibuku District, where under the program, each parish is expected to receive Shs100 million to benefit various categories of people and eradicate poverty through the execution of development activities.
