Police Thwart Armed Robbery Attempt at Mubarak Munyagwa’s Residence in Kyengera

The territorial Police of Nsangi has foiled an attempted aggravated robbery at the residence of Mubarak Munyagwa in Kimbejja Cell, Budo ward , Kyengera Town Council.

The deputy police spokesperson Kampala  Metropolitan  ASP Luke Owoyesigyire  January 3, 2024, said that, at around 3 am Police received information regarding an attempted robbery at Mubarak Munyagwa’s residence.

“A quick response led by the police division commander prevented ye assailants from gaining access to the side premises,” ASPOwoyesigyire said.

Police noted that during the attempted robbery the security guard on duty was hit with a sharp object, sustaining an injury to the head, police added that he was swiftly transported to Mulago for medical treatment.

“The police team brought in the K9 units, despite their efforts hindered by heavy rains, one suspect attempting to flee the scene in a Datsun pickup with registration Number UAK 182A was apprehended and is currently in custody helping with investigations,” ASP Owoyesigyire said.

Police applaud Mubarak Munyagwa’s timely reporting and quick response from the patrol teams that played a critical role in ensuring the safety of life and property.

According to the Police, no shooting occurred at Mubarak Munyagwa’s residence, contrary to social Media’s misleading information. The Assulants were aimed with sharp objects, not guns.
