The police have issued a stern warning to parents across the country to be vigilant and avoid neglecting children in a bid to reduce child kidnapping.

This was issued during the Monday weekly security media brief held at Naguru Police headquarters by ACP Rusoke Kituuma, the police spokesperson.

Rusoke highlighted the need for increased parental responsibility, stressing that the kidnaps are due to negligence.

He said that the police continues to encourage and advise the public to remain cautious, particularly when leaving children in public spaces or under the care of others.

“We share with you pieces of advice when we discover and observe certain security gaps in communities,” he added.
