The Leader of Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi hastily convened an emergency Shadow Cabinet Meeting, causing his fellow opposition members to question his credibility as LOP.

Ssenyonyi according to sources, could not first establish facts about the allegations of corruption being exhibited on Social Media (X) about the Parliament of Uganda, and the Speaker and former LOP Mpuuga to be specific.

In a rush following summons from the exhibitors of the hashtag Uganda Parliament Exhibition, calling out to the Opposition members in parliament to act on the information provided on Twitter, LOP acted quickly without evidence and called a meeting.

Ssenyonyi without any due process as the LOP, to establish whether the said corruption cases being exhibited are true, working together with Francis Zaake Member of Parliament representing Mityana Municipality and Jonathan Odur MP Erute South spearheaded a motion to remove the speaker and Former LOP Mpuuga.

However, the other Opposition Members posed concerns and mounted pressure on Ssenyonyi to provide evidence on which he intends to have the two MPs move a motion other than what is available on social media as the basis of their motion.

Challenged by fellow opposition members, Ssenyonyi tried to twist the facts around by claiming that ever since he became LOP, he has never been invited to a Parliament Commission meeting.

The tensions could still not be cooled down by his change of tactics, it is said that, the MPs queried his capabilities to lead as LOP, if he is going to go by information given by single sources, whose intentions are yet to be established.

One of the MPs was heard, asking Ssenyonyi whether he could honestly say without doubt that his sources were credible, they urged him to provide concrete evidence before proceeding with hanging himself.

The Members according to sources went ahead and challenged Zaake and Odur to provide evidence on which they were basing their motion other than social media, with no evidence provided by Ssenyonyi and his two MPs majority of the Members chose to distance themselves from the tumultuous proceedings scared of the looming clash between the LOP and the house.
