NUP LEADERSHIP SCHOOL: Bobi Wine should be the First to Enroll for Leadership Skills

The National Unity Platform (NUP) party has opened a leadership school at their former head offices in Kamwokya. The school is aimed at teaching political and socio-economic disciplines to NUP leaders and other Ugandans.

NUP and its president, Bobi Wine (Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu), are known promoters and champions of the politics of gangs, violence, and sectarianism. They have exhibited the highest level of lack of values and principles, with their president accused of funding thugs to abuse and insult the Buganda Kingdom, the Kabaka, as well as the Kingdom prime minister, Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga. The same gangs have not spared any Ugandans who don’t agree with their bad politics.

Many Ugandans are then wondering what type of leadership skills these people will teach and who the exact tutors will be. Bobi Wine, with his poor leadership skills, thrives on poor politics, spreading hate, and radicalizing gangs, so he has no moral authority to talk about values and good leadership skills. Could Waisswa Mufumbiro be one of the tutors with his uncouth behaviors and known background of stealing anything, including a television set?

If the school is indeed aimed at changing their mode of politics, then Bobi Wine should enroll first and appear on the list of pioneers. Before the NUP leadership thinks about recruiting other Ugandans for training in their leadership school, they need to first clear their image and prove to Ugandans that they actually qualify to own any leadership school. The entire party’s top leadership needs the skills more than any other leader or politician in Uganda.

Ideally, political leadership schools are intended to nurture the youth and shape them into future leaders by equipping them with good leadership skills, values, and principles that prepare them ideologically for different future leadership roles. Unfortunately, NUP, headed by Bobi Wine, has groomed its youth on the wrong political path that is not desirable and sustainable.

Without doubt, very many Ugandans of sound mind will not enroll in a leadership school owned by NUP, given the type of politics they have played from the start. What if the same school has been put up to continue promoting and teaching the dirty politics NUP has been doing?

It is high time the government picked up interest in the activities of this school and knew their funders; otherwise, the plan may be bigger than just a leadership school. Bobi Wine has been identified with gay organizations and known individuals, and it would be unfortunate to find out that they are the same funders intending to train the youth in homosexuality. A lot needs to be done.
