The leadership of the National Unity Platform has enlisted the services of Kenyan social media influencers to boost their team in a desperate attempt to incite unrest in Kampala.
A highly placed source at the Kavule-based NUP headquarters has revealed that the social media mercenaries are being commanded by a faded Kenyan politician, Babu Owino.
The source noted that Owino’s team has since been instructed by Bobi Wine to collectively run different hashtags on X-Forum (Twitter), pushing Ugandans to fully participate in the planned march to parliament protest on July 23, 2024.
Another source has confirmed that Owino’s team has also been instructed to ferry into Kampala, Mbale, Jinja, Mukono, and some major towns hundreds of youths from Kenya (members of Gen Z) who are deemed fearless to either lead or join a few radical NUP members in wrecking chaos during the protest as they did in Kenya.
Some of the notable active hashtags being run on social media are #OcuppyKampala and #AnitaMustResign, both of which are being massively pushed by Kenyan influencers, some of whom are already in Uganda.
They are also pushing for another hashtag, #bringbackourpeople, whose popularity has since diminished.
Robert Kyagulanyi reportedly contacted Owino a few weeks ago to enlist his active social media influencers to push the march to parliament like it was in Kenya, and they agreed to a hefty pay for the services.
“The team comprises young, zealous youth who fear nothing and can attack anyone without fear; some of them are my friends. I asked them why they are so involved with the Ugandan # tags, and they were quick to say it’s not for free; we are paid to do so,” the source said.
The source identified some of the Kenyan influencers who paid heavily to wreck Uganda as Owino (@HEbabu), Degrata (@Degrata), K47, Digital News (@k47news), MKENYA (@keshRich95), MKENYA (@keshRich95), its-jasper (@itsJay-Ob), and many others.
According to a tweet made by Owino on his handle, he calls on Kenyans to stand with Ugandans as they fight for their human rights.
“Let’s stand with Ugandans, as they are fighting for their rights. #OccupyKampala Museveni must go and stop dictatorship,” he tweeted.
The source further alleged that the opposition is using these influencers to mobilize crowds, organize protests, and promote narratives that benefit homosexuals.
Kenyans recently protested against the tax bill, a move that forced President Williams Ruto to denounce certain government decisions, including dissolving his entire cabinet.
The planned march to Parliament is allegedly against the increasing corruption, but several sources believe it is being sued as a ploy by the highly funded enemies of Uganda by the West countries. The motive, according to security, aims to destabilize the NRM government.
