The director for communications at the NRM secretariat, Emmanuel Dombo, has encouraged National Unity Platform Party president Robert Kyagulanyi to enroll for ideological reorientation at the National Leadership Institute-Kyankwanzi before rushing to study law.
According to Dombo, Bobi Wine urgently requires serious ideological sharpening so as to be equipped with the ability and consciousness to interpret the country’s leadership in a critical manner.
He adds that Kyagulanyi’s mental capability and ability to debate on issues of governance and matters of national importance are way below average.
“I encourage Kyagulanyi to go to Kyankwanzi for a serious political education course, which I believe can help to shape his debates on the issues of governance,” said Dombo.
According to Dombo, Kyagulanyi vowed never to hold any discussions with President Museveni and insists he won the 2021 general elections, a move he described as politically insensitive because politics and governance are about dialogue.
“What are they doing in Parliament as NUP? Who is the Leader of Opposition( LOP)? Once Kyagulanyi appointed the LOP, his reasoning collapsed because, by so doing, he was accepting the outcome of the elections. So that argument no longer holds water, and it is a stupid argument because how can you say he won the elections and then appoint the leader of the opposition? Those who win swear in and lead the government, he needs to widen his knowledge on political governance,” said Dombo.
According to Dombo, Bobi Wine should consider retreating to contest for the parliamentary seat rather than the presidency since he has low mental capacity and the ability to contextualize matters of national importance on behalf of Ugandans.
“The reason why Kyagulanyi failed to explain fiscal policies when he was asked the other time is that he is unable to interpret the country’s economy. When asked about homosexuality, he dodged the whole topic. Since he does not have knowledge on political governance, let him take time to contest again as a member of parliament in 2026 to improve on his knowledge about governance,” Dombo emphasized.
He said politics is about dialogue; Uganda does not need war, so whenever there is an opportunity, leaders in Uganda should find mechanisms for talking, either through IPOD or various forums for discussion and behind the scenes. Not the Kyagulanyi style of claiming no talks; that is a sign of ideological bankruptcy. That is why going to Kyankwanzi would do him a lot of good, stated Dombo.
