NRM Receives 115 Applications for EALA Representation

The National Resistance Movement Electoral Commission Chairman, Dr. Tanga Odoi

The National Resistance Movement Electoral Commission has received a total of 115 applications from individuals interested in vying for the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) membership on the NRM ticket.

In accordance with Rule 10 of the NRM Parliamentary Caucus Rules of Procedure, on Tuesday 28th June the Party’s Electoral Commission invited individuals interested in contesting for the East Africa Legislative Assembly seats.

The National Resistance Movement Electoral Commission Chairman, Dr. Tanga Odoi has revealed that this is the highest number of applicants ever received to represent the party at EALA.

According to Tanga Odoi the names of people who have expressed interest will today 1st July be submitted to NRM’s Central Executive Committee for vetting.

The National Resistance Movement’s Central Executive Committee is set to meet today in Ntungamo district Southwestern Uganda.

The successful candidates will represent Uganda in the East African Legislative Assembly for the 2022-2027 term.

Uganda is currently being represented by 9 representatives in the EALA, 7 of whom are from the NRM.
