The Chairman of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, promised the nation that he will deliver a comprehensive report on NRM’s progress on the socio-economic transformation of Uganda . He made this announcement at the launch of the register update exercise at the party offices on Kyadando Road in Kampala today.

In a live broadcast scheduled for tomorrow, February 29, 2024, President Museveni will address the issue of socio-economic transformation, emphasizing its impact on the common man. The report aims to provide insights into the NRM’s efforts to improve the living conditions of Ugandans by focusing on key principles: patriotism, pan-Africanism, socio-economic transformation, and democracy.

During his speech, President Museveni reiterated the NRM’s commitment to lifting Ugandans out of poverty through various means, such as wealth creation via commercial agriculture, manufacturing, artisanship, services including transport, hotels, musicians, comedians, preachers/pastors, and ICT. He emphasized the party’s determination to resolve the needs and problems of the people through work, rather than relying on handouts or personal donations.

“The NRM party is dedicated to understanding and providing solutions to the needs of the people. We work diligently to uplift Ugandans out of poverty and ensure their essential needs are met,” President Museveni stated.

Furthermore, President Museveni urged all party members to embrace the message of prosperity and actively contribute to the development of the country. He drew attention to his personal commitment to Uganda’s success and encouraged citizens to display the same level of dedication.

“I have never taken out an insurance policy because my insurance is the success of Uganda. What measures have you taken to secure the future of our children and grandchildren? Do not promote tribalism and sectarianism based on religion and ethnicity,” President Museveni passionately expressed.

Prior to his address, President Museveni took part in the register update exercise by updating his particulars in the party register. The process was conducted by the NRM party Secretary General, Richard Todwong, and witnessed by the party Chairman for Kiruhura District, Shadrack Nzaire,  where President Museveni cast his vote.
