National Water introduces Electronic billing method

National and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has phased out physical bills and introduced Electronic billing method.

Dr. Silver Mugisha, the NWSC Managing Director says the new innovation will create more flexibility, convenience and better customer experience.

Mugisha said that the new system is currently being piloted within Kampala area and will be rolled out to other National Water and Sewerage Corporation areas after.

“The system has commenced with Kampala Water and will be rolled out to other NWSC companies after,” Dr. Mugisha said.

He added that the electronic billing brings ease and convenience to the customer in accessing, receiving and managing their water and sewerage bills, account statements and much more.

“You can now receive your bill by SMS on your phone, email address, check it on the NWSC website,” He added.

The SMS message will show units consumed and the outstanding bill at the end of the month.

NWSC boss further indicated that, attached to the SMS message is a link, which one can click and view a detailed water bill.

“This works for both analog and smart phones,” he further said.

NWSC requests her customers to update their contact details including an active phone number and email address to be able to receive E-bills.
