President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has stated that as chairman of NAM and G77+China, he will focus on four key areas: working for global peace, promoting South-to-South investments through the production of goods and services, opening up market linkages between countries, and improving infrastructure investment.
The President made these remarks during a luncheon hosted by himself and the first lady, Janet K. Museveni, at State House, Entebbe, on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, to thank those who organized the recently concluded summits.
“Mama Janet and I hosted a luncheon at State House, Entebbe, in honor of the National Organizing Committee of the recently concluded NAM and G77+China summits,” President Museveni said.
During the event, the president emphasized core practices and honored those working to improve the country.
“I reiterated the core practices of the NRM that have enabled us to succeed in many undertakings. These are, among others: vision, ideology, patriotism, and prioritization. A few examples are Sudhir, who wouldn’t be here if we didn’t reject Amin’s ideological bankruptcy, and the Engineering Brigade of UPDF wouldn’t have saved us Shs130 billion on the airport expansion and facelift,” he said.
The President thanked everyone who collaborated with Lucy Nakyobe and Adonia Ayebare to successfully host the summits and asked that the momentum be maintained so that, during the tenure, Uganda will deliver not only good summits but also good content to the world.
