President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has said that he has no plan to create additional administrative units in the country.

While responding to a request presented by the leaders from the Bukedi region to create more municipalities in the region, the president confirmed that no additional administrative units will be created anytime soon.

He explained that this would incur additional costs for administration and political leaders.

The President further stated that the creation of new administrative units, such as districts, cities, municipalities, and town councils, would require funds that could be used for wealth creation instead.

President Museveni wrapped up his wealth creation mobilization activities in the Bukedi sub region on Sunday, November 10th, 2024, with a strong call to both local leaders and residents to practically get involved in wealth building to eradicate poverty.
