The Grade 1 Magistrates court in Nakifuma Mukono district have remanded two re-known land dealers on charges of forcible entry and conspiracy to commit an offence.
According to the statement released on April, 9, 2025, by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SHACU) in conjunction with criminal investigation department (CID) and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) arraigned and identified the land dealers as Seruma Kityo Green Way Edward and Yusufu Kazibwe.
“The accused and others still at large, between 2020 and 2023, violently entered the kibanja (land) belonging to Martin Kamundu in Nakasajja Village, Kyampisi sub-county, Mukono district and destroyed property, trees and crops with the intent of taking possession of it, “SHACU noted X (formerly Twitter).
According to SHACU,the accused persons went ahead and conspired with one of the administrators of the land, subdivided into plots and sold it to different persons.
The state house anti-corruption unit rapid response team follows President Museveni’s directive to the Head of the Unit, Brig Gen Henry Isoke, to investigate the criminal aspects of the matter, while other offices including Ministry of Lands, IGP and DPP ensure the law is upheld.
The suspects were remanded to prison and set to appear in court on April, 28, 2025.
