MBALE: Nasty accident injures five police officers, Investigation Launched

Police in Elgon region have started investigations into the cause of an accident which involved a police vehicle injuring five police officers attached to Budaka Central Police at Doko village along Budaka-Mbale road. According to a statement released by SP Rogers Taitika, the Elgon regional police spokesperson, the injured officers have been identified as; Cpl Bigambo Victor, PC Mujuni Jonah, PC Ampaire Frank, Tumwesigye Kenneth and the driver Wabutambi Robert. The accident which left the officers critically injured occurred after a police vehicle registration number UP 7704 lost control and overturned several times.

“The police motor vehicle which was coming from Budaka side heading to Mbale allegedly lost control and veered off the road before overturning and injuring the occupants,” police statement reads in part

Taitika states that investigations are on to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
