Maj Gen Nabasa Implores over 348 UPDF Graduates to Pursue Excellence, Dedication

The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) have passed out 348 soldiers after a 12-week intensive refresher training where they were reminded to strive for excellence and pursue work.

Maj Gen Don William Nabasa, the Commander of the 3 Infantry Division of the UPDF, who presided over the ceremony on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Moroto Army Barracks, addressed the challenges and expectations facing the newly graduated troops.

“Prioritize discipline and hard work over seeking favors,” he said.

He emphasized the significance of ongoing training, especially during peacetime, to enhance soldiers’ skills and minimize errors in combat situations.

“There are plans for additional customized training programs designed to better prepare troops for various operational environments,” Maj Gen Nabasa added.

Maj Gen Nabasa further highlighted the positive impact of continuous training, noting significant improvements in combat effectiveness and operational efficiency within the force.

During the ceremony, exceptional trainees were recognized for their outstanding performance and awarded prizes, reinforcing the UPDF’s commitment to excellence.

The event was attended by Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, and key staff officers, all of whom celebrated the achievements of the graduating troops.
