Lira District CAO Emphasises Transparency and Collaboration in Governance

The Lira District Chief Administrative Officer, Ismael Ochengal, has called for transparency among civil servants tasked with the roles of implementing various government programmes.

Ochengel made the remarks on Monday, July 29TH, while taking over as the new Lira District CAO from Geoffrey Okaka during the handover ceremony held at the district chambers.

He pledged to serve with due diligence and emphasised the need for teamwork among political and technical staff with clear accountability on all district affairs.

He stressed the importance of regular consultation and making public information readily available to those who may be in need to ensure transparency.

Ochengel was transferred from Gulu, replacing Geoffrey Okaka, who will be serving as the new chief administrative officer for Serere district.

The outgoing CAO Mr. Geoffrey Okaka handed over the keys to the office, residence, and vehicle registration number UG 779M. He also noted that his stay at Lira District was encompassed with illness, which hindered his performance to the expectations of many.
