KIRUDDU HOSPITAL SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT IN ITS FINAL STAGES OF COMPLETION

The sewerage treatment plant at Kiruddu Referral Hospital has been confirmed to be in its final stages as 80% of the work has been covered.

This was confirmed during the inspection of the construction works by the ministry of health’s permanent secretary Dr. Diana Atwine.

“I want to thank the leadership of Kiruddu National Referral hospital for setting out key values in service delivery and following them,” Diana said.

Dr. Atwine, who was attending the community engagement meeting for Kiruddu National Referral hospital organized to sensitize local leaders and on how the community can prevent and deal with various diseases confirmed that the sewage treatment plant was 80% complete.

Upon completion, the plant will help conserve and protect the environment by delivering much cleaner, more environmentally friendly effluent at the hospitals and the surrounding areas. The plant will be treating 150,000 liters of waste per day.
