Kira police have intensified their efforts to apprehend the perpetrators involved in the murder of Bianca, a young woman residing in Janda Zone, Namugongo division, Wakiso district.
According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Police Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan, the tragic incident took place in the early hours of December 28th, 2023.
Reports indicate that the deceased engaged in a heated altercation with three men, one of whom was a South Sudanese national. This individual had previously been detained on theft charges but was subsequently released on bail.
While two of the suspects remain at large, Owoyesigyire assured the public that the authorities are determined to locate them and ensure they face the full force of the law.
The police spokesperson emphasized that a thorough investigation is underway. The police will also interview witnesses who were present during the incident to gather additional information.
According to Owoyesigyire, preliminary reports suggest that the motive behind this brutal murder may have been related to a new phone Bianca received as a Christmas gift from her sister in the United States.
The body of the deceased has been transported to Mulago City Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to shed light on the circumstances surrounding her death.
Mr. Michael, the LC1 chairman of the area, confirmed that both the accused and the deceased were local residents. He also provided the police with information that the body was discovered at Sunset Bar.
The Kira police are urging anyone with relevant information regarding the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
