In a bid to capture the prime suspect in the murder case of businessman and former Ndiga clan leader Eng. Daniel Bbosa, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (CID) has raised the reward offered for the arrest or provision of credible information leading to the arrest of Lujja Bbosa Tabula. The reward has been increased from UGX 10M to UGX 20M.
Uganda Police Spokesperson, SCP Fred Enanga, made this announcement during a press statement on March 18, 2024, at the CID Headquarters in Kibuli. SCP Enanga labeled Tabula as the mastermind behind the murder, responsible for planning, weapon acquisition, hiring of killers, and ultimately, the execution of Eng. Bbosa. The businessman was fatally shot on Sunday, February 25, 2024, near his residence in Lungujja, shortly after returning from a meeting with clan members in Buikwe.
In the previous police statement released on March 4, 2024, SCP Enanga disclosed that Tabula is a resident of Kabango village, Kakola parish, Mutuba gumu sub-county in Mpigi district. Authorities suspect he may be hiding in the Islands.
Despite efforts made by the public to provide information regarding Tabula’s whereabouts, no significant leads have been uncovered thus far. SCP Enanga cautioned that harboring the suspect from the police would result in charges of aiding a criminal, emphasizing that anyone found protecting Tabula to prevent his arrest would face legal consequences.
“We urge the suspect to turn himself to the police and defend himself because the longer he stays in hiding, the more guilty and desperate he becomes, which can easily lead him into committing other crimes while escaping or hiding,” SCP Enanga warned.
To aid in the search, a wanted poster has been created and is available on the police website and various social media platforms. Individuals with relevant information are urged to contact the Special Investigations Division at CID Headquarters by dialing 0741-111-333.
In closing, SCP Enanga assured the public that law enforcement agencies will not rest until Tabula is apprehended and brought to justice. Authorities remain confident in their ability to locate the fugitive and hold him accountable for his alleged crimes.
