KARAMOJA: UPDF Soldiers Recover over 200 Cows from Cattle Rustlers

The Uganda Peoples’ Defense Force soldiers have recovered more than 200 cows that had been rustled by the cattle rustlers in Karamoja region.

General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the UPDF Commander Land Forces confirmed the latest development.

He said the cows had been raided from Bokora on Sunday night by the suspected Jie of Kotido district.

“These are over 200 cows we recovered last night from Bokora who had raided the Jie of Kotido. We are slowly bringing sanity to Karamoja. All of Uganda shall be completely peaceful,” Gen Muhoozi said.

The recovered livestock shall be returned to the owners upon verification by the local authorities. This is latest huge number of cows recovered by the troops.

On Sunday, CLF Muhoozi described the current situation in Karamoja as small noting that UPDF shall soon de-escalate and restore sanity.

Two weeks ago, President Museveni also the Commander In Chief of the Armed forces pledged to decisively handle the security situation in the region.
