How Uganda’s Opposition Preaches Change Without Offering Alternatives

The opposition in Uganda has lately turned into a group of comedians preaching change but with no alternative proposals since almost all the opposition parties and their leaders have exhibited the highest level of mediocrity and lack of skills to lead a country.

Over time, Ugandans have always wondered why these opposition politicians keep singing “Museveni Must go” but they don’t tell us what happens after he goes. The entire change activism looks more like personal issues than a public interest. These opposition politicians prove to be worse than the regime they oppose and no wonder Ugandans have refused to trust them with the leadership of the country.

There is no way politicians who have failed to lead their small political parties can be trusted with the leadership of an entire country. The opposition political parties in Uganda are known to be corrupt and disorganized with their leaders fighting for positions and finances.

The intolerance and opposition in Uganda as well as greed for money by these opposition leaders who lack the utmost decorum leaves Ugandans with no option but to vote for the regime whose best leadership they have tasted.

Ugandans understand that change does not necessarily mean that things will be better. African countries like Libya, Sudan and others that witnessed change with no alternative have since gone to the worst, leaving their citizens regretting after being used by western countries to remove the leaders that had developed their countries to certain good levels but have since destroyed beyond repair and the western countries abandoned them after destruction. There is no difference between the opposition politicians in Uganda and those destroyed countries that have since turned unstable for good. They are all funded by enemies of their mother countries who pursue selfish interests.

They fight all development projects through protests and aim at destabilizing their peaceful countries in the name of activism. Ugandans have learnt many lessons from neighboring African countries and would definitely never allow the same mistakes to happen here.

There is no country that has done everything at the same time and it is known that change is sometimes necessary but not in situations where there are no alternative plans. The current opposition politicians are just pursuing selfish interests to enrich themselves and attain political positions but are not ready for the leadership of a country.

Uganda deserves other opposition politicians than the current ones. It is not in order to change good leaders and replace them with self-seekers who have already exhibited mediocrity and ideological deficiency.
