On July 23, 2024, a meager number of youths embarked on the march to Parliament protest disguised as an anti-corruption initiative in Kampala.

With the heavily deployed security operatives along major corners of the city, the few protesters never reached parliament as they had initially planned.

“For all those that believe that the March to Parliament protest is “leaderless,” you are stupid. Undisclosed facts: 1. The kids that have been mobilizing on social media (the famous ones) were paid £40,000 in total. 2. They were promised international media coverage with a team led by a white chic named Sofi Lundin, a freelance journalist and photographer in Uganda,” Brian the Mixologist shared on his X-handle.

A credible source has identified Sofi Lundin, as a freelance journalist and international activist used by intelligence agencies in Europe; she is also an official from the Embassy of Sweden in Uganda.

Masquerading as a passionate fellow about social justice and gender equality, Lundin is always covering the staged and managed anti-NRM regime protests, including the famous EACOP protest and the recent march to parliament protest.

On Tuesday, before joining the protestors, Lundin posted on her x-account, “As I’m leaving home today, I’m asking security (police), on behalf of all press members, for protection and support. I am praying for a peaceful day.”

Another source confirmed that Lundin is the overall link between local journalists (activists) who are heavily paid to concentrate on negative news stories that taint the image of the NRM regime regarding the poor handling of human rights.

“Beewol is the one coordinating payments to other small influencers on behalf of US Mission in Uganda through these numbers, 0771622835 and 0700486922,” a local source confirmed.

On July 22, 2024, Lundin attacked security for sealing off the offices of the opposition NUP in Kavule, Makerere University.

“Marching to parliament is tribeless, partyless, and leaderless, according to Ugandan youngsters. So why have the army and police sealed off opposition party NUP offices?” Lundin tweeted on her X-Account, @SofiLundin.

When confronted by a patriotic youth on x-forum who asked why she was overly concerned about the affairs of Uganda, she boldly replied, “I’m living and working in that country, so I have full rights to ask questions.”

On July 15th, Lundin said, “The last protest I covered, Uganda Police assisted the protesters to the parliament with their petition. It seems that is their new (media?) strategy, and protesters should be prepared for that. The question is, what is the strategy when that’s done?”

Another source has also revealed that Lundin also coordinated closely with Solomon Sserwanja to engage local reporters to deliver extensive negative media coverage during the protest.

It should be recalled that Sserwanja, a local journalist in Kampala and the Executive Director of African Investigative Journalism, has in the recent past been receiving huge sums of funds from several European agencies, including the French Embassy.
