Hoima LCV Chairperson Dies in Motor Accident

The Chairman LCV of Hoima District, Kadiri Kirungi, has died in a head-on collision at Mataagi village along the Hoima-Kampala highway in Kiboga District.

ASP Faridah Nampiima, the traffic police spokesperson said the accident occurred on Friday, 17th March 2023 around 22:00pm at Mataagi village, Bukomero Town Council along Kampala-Hoima highway in Kibiga District.

“The accident involved motor vehicle registration number UAH 053Q (Prado Land Cruiser) and UBB 059Z (Fuso fighter),” Police statement indicated.

The incident claimed the lives of two people instantly and another police personnel identified as Police Constable Otim Bosco, the deceased’s bodyguard.

She said motor vehicle Reg No UBB 059Z which was traveling from Kampala to Kiboga side and being driven by a yet to be identified driver on reaching Mataagi bridge, tried to dodge a pothole.

“The vehicle swerved off from its lane on to its right hand side and met another motor vehicle, UAH 053Q, which was heading to Kampala side from Hoima,” the statement reads.

The bodies of the deceased were conveyed to the Kiboga hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.
