The Office of the President has dispatched various teams to gather information on the performance of the Parish Development Model (PDM) across Uganda to ensure that the program is effective and beneficial to all citizens.

According to the memo released by the Office of the President on June 17, 2024, the teams’ primary objective is to identify the challenges faced by the PDM program and beneficiaries with the aim of making necessary improvements in future disbursements.

“The public has therefore been requested to welcome and cooperate with the teams from the Office of the President when they visit their homes and enterprises by providing accurate and honest information and participating in the assessment process by sharing their experiences and suggestions for improving the PDM,” the memo read in part.

According to the team leader, Maj Edmund Turyatunga, the key objectives of the assessment include identifying the challenges faced by the PDM, gathering information from citizens and stakeholders, and making improvements in the distribution process.

He noted that the information gathered will be used to make necessary improvements in the PDM program, ensuring that it is more effective and efficient in the future.

“Your cooperation and participation are crucial to achieving the goal of an effective and beneficial PDM,” he said.

PDM, a government strategy for ensuring socio-economic transformation by bringing the remaining 39% of Ugandan households from subsistence into the monetary economy, was launched by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at Kibuku grounds on February 26, 2022, to improve service delivery and alleviate poverty at the grassroots level.
