Gov’t builds four housing units for victims of election violence

One of the four housing units built for victims of election violence in Katakwi district by the government

Government has built four housing units for victims of the 2021 elections violence in Katakwi district.

The structures were promised by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni shortly after the elections. This is one of the many presidential pledges to be delivered by the government in the region within a short period.

“On behalf of H.E, I handed over 4 newly constructed housing units to victims of election violence in Katakwi. I once again express heartfelt gratitude to families of the victims for remaining calm amidst everything and thank very deeply, President Museveni for this,” Vice President Major (Rtd) Jessica Alupo said.

While presiding over the handover ceremony on Sunday, VP Alupo maintained government commitment to fulfill pledges made by President Museveni.

She urged local leaders to mobilize and ensure that people benefits from the various government programs including the incoming Parish Development Model-PDM to elevate themselves from poverty.

“Thank you so much for delivering H.E President Kaguta’s pledge. They should expect more good things from the NRM government. Long live President Museveni, long live NRM and long live VP Rtd,” Ojilong Alfred, a local resident said.
