Police have arrested four suspects over an aggravated robbery that occurred at the home of the police officer, SP Frederick Baguma, in Kirinda Busabala parish, Makindye Ssabagabo in Wakiso district.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, stated that the assailants allegedly gained access to Officer Baguma’s residence, beating him up and running away with an unspecified amount of money and other properties.

According to Owoyesigyire, the police officer later reported the matter to the police, who deployed the canine unit, which later tracked the scent to a nearby construction site.

“Consequently, four suspects, including Umar Mukiibi, Jimmy Mawanda, Abraham Ecau, and Joseph Canodia, were arrested,” Owoyesigyire stated.

He further noted that no stolen items were recovered at the time of arrest, but the four suspects are currently detained at Katwe Police Station as the investigations continue.

Owoyesigyire stated that SP Baguma is still admitted in hospital, receiving treatment, and assured the public that more details will be provided as soon as they become available.
